Gentle scrub with natural ingredientsI have really been enjoying using the Oil Garden Aromatherapy range, I love that they contain no sulphates, mineral oils, silicones, petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances, TEA’s or parabens.
The smell of the scrub is divine with the natural fragrance of bergamot and geranium (which also happens to be one of my favourite essential oil combos that I use in my diffuser!) The base of the scrub is made from organic Aloe Vera, Argan oil and Papaya extract and the exfoliant is from the agra shell - I had to look this one up but it is actually walnut shell. I love the natural ingredients in this scrub, and it has over 91% organic ingredients.
I have been using the facial scrub in the shower instead of my usual facewash and it has been so refreshing. At first I thought it wasn’t working properly, when I went to wash it off and my face still felt oily instead of the squeaky clean feeling I get after using my other scrubs. Once I dried my face off I realised how soft it left my skin feeling! It removed all my makeup from the day no problem, gently exfoliated my skin and left it feeling soft and fresh.
I hardly felt like I needed to moisturise afterwards.
The price is more than I would usually pay for a scrub, but I must admit I think this works pretty well and it is natural, I am always happy to pay more for a product if I know the ingredients are good. Plus the natural look of the packaging is very stylish, it looks so pretty sitting on the bathroom counter!
Even though I received this as a trial I would definitely consider purchasing it once this tube has run out.. you know how the saying goes.. you get what you pay for!

A beautiful organic facial scrubThank you BH for the opportunity to trial Oil Garden Clarifying Facial Scrub.
I'm trying to use more natural based skin care and this brand is perfect for me as it contains natural organic ingredients and is Australian made.
The facial scrub comes in a plastic white 75ml tube with a screw off lid which has a a faux wood appearance. The scrub is lightweight, creamy and light brown in colour. The scrub contains exfoliating grains of agra shell which you can see in the scrub. The shell is a natural exfoliant to help remove dead skin cells. The shell exfoliated gently and was not harsh or abrasive.
It contains a natural organic base of Aloe Vera, Argan Oil and papaya extract and is enriched with Bergamot and Geranium.
It has a nice natural refreshing scent which is not overpowering or irritating. I applied the scrub gently after cleansing to my face, forehead and neck and rinsed well with warm water afterwards to remove the scrub.
After using this scrub my skin felt cleaner, super soft, smooth, hydrated, more refined and looked brighter.
The packaging didn't tell you how often to use the product. The Beauty Heaven Trial Team leaflet which came with the scrub said it could be used once or twice a day.
I personally wouldn't use it twice a day as I wouldn't want to over exfoliate my skin. I would also prefer the packaging to be slightly larger than the 75ml it is currently.
I love that this product is 91.37% organic, vegan friendly and does not contain any sulfates, mineral oils, silicones, petrochemicals, synthetic fragrances or parabens, is not tested on animals and is made in Australia.
Use the facial scrub in conjunction with the Oil Garden Nourishing Facial Moisturiser for smooth hydrated skin.
Anyone wanting to use Australian made, natural, organic products to achieve smooth, soft skin.|
Smells DivineThank you BH for giving me the opportunity to trial this product.
This creamy exfoliant comes in a tube with an attractive faux wood lid. The product is light and easy to apply. It is quite granular so provides a good level of exfoliation. The natural scent of essential oils make this product enjoyable and relaxing to use. I applied three times a week to cleansed skin, using a light circular motion and a gentle touch. The product rinsed away easily and left m skin feeling hydrated and very smooth to the touch.
My only issue was that the product did leave my skin looking quite red immediately on application and for about 20 minutes after. My skin did not feel irritated however so I continued to use the product but only at night time. After a week or so of use, my skin seemed to adjust and I didn't experience further redness.
I love that this scrub contains natural ingredients that shouldn't irritate most skin types and I adore the scent of the natural oils.
After using this product three times weekly for three weeks, my skin feels smooth and 'de-congested' and I have noticed and improvement in overall tone and condition.
The packaging is classy and looks chic on the bathroom counter or in the shower.
I would definitely purchase this product and am grateful to have been part of the trial team.
Apply to freshly cleansed slightly damp skin using a circular motion and a gentle touch. Rinse away with warm water and enjoy smooth and hydrated skin.

Great productAfter using it , my skin feels really clean and soft.It is a really gentle scrub , really creamy. But in the same time works really well , it helps removing even make up.So for me it is more a cleanser than a scrub.
Honestly I was not really happy about the smell when I opened the tube , but the smell goes really quick so I can get over it considering it is a real good quality product.
I like to use it in the shower.
Daily use .|
BEAUTYHEAVEN: @HERTINYVOICEI was so excited to try this facial scrub! As soon as the seal was broken, the gorgeous scent of the scrub transported me to my favourite day spa. The creamy texture of this scrub was divine and made it so easy to use and distribute on my skin. The oils in the formula left my skin feeling soft and moisturised after rinsing.
Unlike many scrubs, this one did not cause any irritation or tightness to my skin.
My only issue is it's the product is the packaging, or more specifically the lid, screw on lids are such a pain when it comes to cleansers and scrubs. However this is a minor issue.
Love love love this product!!!
Use in the shower for an extra sensory treat!!!
Best Smelling Product Ever (and nice scrub)I’m really scent sensitive but I have to begin this review by noting how utterly delicious this product smells. Maybe it’s a combination that is particularly appealing to be but it’s not at all overbearing - just kind of a combination of geranium and papaya that is utterly refreshing and not at all cloying. The product itself is a strong scrub that needs to be used very gently. The main exfoliant is agra (walnut) shell) which is pretty gritty, but if you are a gentle touch, it’s quite effective especially if you leave for a few extra seconds so the papaya can also do its work, and the product rinses off quite quickly and easily leaving the skin feeling smooth, soft and glowing. The tube itself is pretty nice looking - with its wood grain lid and a little goes a very long way as it spreads on application. I love the ingredient list which includes aloe, geranium oil, bergamot, and argan oil so that its moisturising as well as exfoliating. I love that it’s all natural and organic, all Australian, and doesn’t test on animals.
This is a product that ticks all the boxes. It’s not the cheapest exfoliant around but it feels like a very high quality product and I feel like its worth paying a bit more for this.
I’ll just repeat that you need to be really gentle when applying the scrub - and I wouldn’t use more than twice a week. I find it works best to use in the evening (rather than at the start of the day) and then follow up with a rich oil based moisturiser (I love Rosehip oil). I haven’t tried it but I suspect that Oil Garden’s Night Cream might also work really well as a follow-on.
Anyone who wants a really effective exfoliant that’s all natural, particularly if you love a natural fresh and delicate scent. Just smelling this will make you feel good.|
A good, gentle scrub suitable for everyday useI'm a fan of facial scrubs - but not when they are too abrasive!
As with the moisturiser, this product t has a lovely smell that isn't too overpowering for me. Usually, aromatherapy products are too strong for my liking but this just the right amount of scent.
The packaging, also like the moisturiser is authentic and organic - reflecting the makeup of the product itself. I like the faux wood screw cap lid, however for in shower use I'd prefer a flip top cap.
The scrub itself is composed of its granular ingredient, ground walnut shell among other nourishing ingredients like essential oils, argan oil and papaya extract - a recipe for beautiful glowing skin and product that smells good enough to eat.
I find the scrub to be really gentle - maybe even too gentle for my liking. But for those who don't like granular exfoliators I think they'll still love this. Its not a scrub that I would substitute for a cleanser though as some people do - it wasn't as good as cleaning off my makeup as some other scrubs so I would use this only after a cleanser or if you haven't been wearing any makeup.
The scrub really leaves my skin so soft - I think it leaves a thin film of oil on your skin that slowly evaporates/absorbs into the skin afterwards so that while your stripping your skin cells you are moisturising at the same time as well which is really important.
I think it's quite a good scrub to use daily because it is still really gentle on your skin. It smells lovely and leaves your skin soft and moisturised so I think all round it's a good product and definitely worth trying.
Cleanse properly beforehand!
Those who like a more gentle exfoliation|
Creamy & gentleWe're fans of the Oil Garden Aromatherapy brand, having already used some of their essential oils, so we were delighted to be offered a chance to trial their recently launched skincare range.
The 'Clarifying Facial Scrub' and 'Nourishing Facial Moisturizer' were the products we trialed.
Scrubs are great for deep cleansing in the evening, after a steaming session in the shower or after washing your face with warm water to enlarge the pores. A creamy base with tiny bits of shell, it's gentle on the skin and leaves your skin feeling soft. The scent is comforting and relaxing with Bergamot & Geranium keynotes.
Is it effective? For Halloween week at work we wore makeup with a black base, and there was vivid face paint in my pores. I cleansed with a wipe, then washed my face and used the scrub (twice just to be sure) and it worked! Scrubbed away dead skin cells, the face paint, and refreshed my skin!
Use in the evening after cleansing, twice a week, after steaming.
Those who don't have a nut allergy.|
Gentle Natural Facial ScrubThank you to Oil Garden and Beautyheaven for the opportunity to trial this Oil Garden Clarifying Facial Scrub.
It comes packaged in a 75ml squeezable tube with a faux wood screw cap lid. I love that it contains 99% natural and 91.37% organic ingredients. This gives me the peace of mind knowing that I am not putting nasty chemicals on my skin.
This facial scrub has a subtle and pleasant natural scent. It contains agra shell which is a natural exfoliant. These fine exfoliating particles are kind and gentle on my skin. I am impressed by how it leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth and refreshed. This would be thanks to the blend of beautiful skin loving oils and extracts it contains.
This facial scrub retails for $24.99 for 75ml which is a good price for this high quality product. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a gentle yet effective facial scrub.
Those with sensitive skin looking for a gentle facial scrub|
Cleansing the natural wayThis is the first time I have come across this brand and I always enjoy trying out new natural Australian skincare products - I think we are spoiled with so many choices at varying price points.
The packaging is clean and 'green'. The scent is botanical and exactly like what I had expected from a company that focuses on aromatherapy.
The scrub itself felt quite gritty - I made sure I was extra gentle in cleansing. It did make my skin smoother and softer. For best performance, twice-weekly cleanses are more than adequate.
I liked the exfoliating properties of both the physical scrub and papaya extracts. The creaminess of botanical oils worked well for my dry dehydrated skin.
Pros: non-irritating, no harmful ingredients, pleasant scent, doesn't strip skin
I feel the product is appropriately priced in terms of performance and quality.|
My new favourite facial scrub100%
I was lucky enough to try the Oil Garden Facial scrub in the November discovery bag. I have to say it is now my new favourite facial scrub.
The facial scrub comes in a cute 75ml white tube with A fake wood pattern on the lid, giving it an earthy appearance. As I love Organic skin care I was very excited to trial this product. I think it is fantastic that the Oil Garden Aromatherapy range are not tested on animals and free from a variety of nasty chemicals that are now know to be harmful to your health. It also uses walnut shell for the exfoliant which is much more environmentally sustainable than plastic microbeads.
I have been using the scrub every second or third day, I found it comes out in a nice consistency and is very easy to apply. I have used it alongside the facial moisturiser and have found the appearance of my skin to be a lot softer and smoother. It also has a devine natural scent of essential oils and reminds me of being at a luxurious day spa. Whilst the exfoliation is so gentle on the skin, your skin is also left feeling very cleansed.
Whilst it is a bit more expensive then your average pharmacy facial scrub, I do not mind paying extra for quality and organic ingredients. When I run out I do plan on repurchasing!
Use every 2 - 3 days on the skin to avoid over exfoliation.
Those with sensitive skin or prefer organic/cruelty-free skin care products.|
Best ScrubThis scrub comes in a squeeze tube containing 75mls. The lid is a screw top which is why I've deducted a star because it's simply impractical to use, especially in the shower. That aside, this is the best scrub I've ever used! The formulation is creamy and grainy from the ground walnut shell for the exfoliant. It feels rough on the skin (but it is not harsh) but because of the added essential oils and other goodies it actually leaves your skin feeling baby smooth and soft!
Rinsing off the product is easy, there is no reside/film feeling left on the skin it just feels moisturised which is a huge bonus to me. The scent is earthy and top notes include lavender and citrus. It is all natural, however if you are sensitive to fragrance of any kind this product is not for you as it is strong! My skin looked more even and radiant after use. I used the scrub 1-2 times per week.
Huge brownie points for being Aussie made, vegan and cruelty free. Highly recommended and I would use this product again.|
Trial Team Review100%
I was pretty excited when I got the email that I was selected to trial the Oil Garden products, I have always seen their aromatherapy oils around and was excited to learn they had skincare products also! I've struggled, this past year especially, to find products that are not only gentle on my skin but actually work at helping fight my reoccurring breakouts so by this point, I was happy to give anything a go! And I was pleasantly surprised! The packaging is cute, it follows along the same line of the oils so you can clearly tell it's a part of that brand. It comes in a squeeze tube which honestly, a pump would have been more better in my opinion purely to eliminate wasting any product. I loved the scent, it was very subtle, the bergamot and geranium weren't overpowering at all and it was somewhat calming to use this scrub, I'm assuming due to the essential oils that where picked. Scrubs tend to scare me away if they are too rough and this particular one is so far from that! It's super gentle, you don't feel like your scrubbing your face off haha! It's so gentle that I was able to use it daily and not react negatively with it.
I really enjoyed using this scrub and I will be adding it into my daily regime for sure!|
A great, refreshing facial scrubI was lucky enough to be invited to trial this lovely packaged clarifying facial scrub with organic aloe vera, papaya extract, bergamot and geranium for the last couple of weeks. Now that it has come time to review this product, I think that I am actually fairly surprised by the fact that I kind of did like it. It is considerably different to the face scrubs that I usually tend to favour, but I actually found the less course texture was rather refreshing, which perfectly matched the great summer-like scent of the product. The scrub, much like the moisturiser, has a nice texture, that is very soothing on the skin. It just feels really nice. I think this would be a good every-other-day scrub, that would be used in conjunction with my normal, coarser once a week scrub.
anyone who wants a quick and natural exfoliant that smells as great as it feels on the skin|
Creamy cleanser and scrub in oneI really enjoyed the ease of use of the Clarifying Facial Scrub (no mixing with other ingredients, not pressure to activate etc) you just squeeze the product from the tube and massage- great. The exfoliating granules were fine, but not scratchy and roughas the base product was a rich creamy texture. It was a pleasant experience. The scent was also mild, but one I had to get used to.
My least likeable aspect about the product was the packaging- I love the squeezable tube, but would prefer a flip top lid as I like to leave the product in the shower. For ease of use, I would prefer a flip top lid for one handed use- with the screw top lid you need two hands to remove the lid, and then juggle to replace the lid with product in your hand. A flip top lid would be more practical in the shower and convenient for travel too.
A 10 cent coin amount will suffice for the face and neck areas. Use in small circular areas to remove dead skin layer.
Ideal for those without nut allergies and those who enjoy the organic approach|
Good creamy scrub for all skin typesThe Clarifying Facial Scrub from Oil Garden is the accompanying scrub that goes with their Nourishing Facial Moisturiser. The scrub is free from chemicals and boasts being 91.37% organic in total. It contains a great mix of the following natural ingredients: aloe vera, papaya extract, argan oil bergamot, geranium, and agra shell. The agra shell is a natural exfoliant and is what provides the small rough particles in this scrub that work to clean away all the dead skin cells and the dirt and grime of the outside world that tends to cake on our skin.
The scrub comes in a squeezable plastic tube with a screw on lid. The scrub itself is a white-pink in colour and a creamy-milky consistency. I found the agra shell particles to be a bit too rough on my face, but it is bearable. What I found interesting is that after using it my skin feels very hydrated almost as if I had just used a skin oil rather than a scrub. This is very different to my other experiences with facial scrubs that tend to leave my skin feeling very clean and almost stripped off the top layer, which is kind of what I want in order for the skin cells to regenerate themselves.
The scrub smells just as divine as the moisturiser does - natural, herbal and just simply yummy!|
Very strongly scented but gentlePackaging: This packaging is super cute! i love the natural, rustic feel to it. the the white, green and brown colours give a very natural and calming feel. it comes in a super easy squeeze tube that makes depositing product very simple. i love the wooden look top. it even has a grain that feels like real wood.
Scent: personally i find the scent a little too overpowering for my liking. it is defiantly a natural scent. very strongly steered towards essential oils. it is quite strongly scented lavender and bergamot.
Formula: a beautiful thin creamy base with a soft gentle amount of natural exfolianting beads. The formula was not harsh on the skin so was gentle enough to use every day. it left my skin feeling soft and smooth.
over ally i love the feeling but the scent is a little much for me particularly in a warm bathroom.|
Gentle and InexpensiveThis is an excellent scrub and cleanser. I have combination skin, so finding a scrub that exfoliates dry patches without breaking me out is difficult. This scrub is very gentle and leaves my skin feeling clean and soft, never dry.
Because it's very gentle, it can be used every day an also it is very powerful in removing a lot of dirt, oil and makeup. It contains natural oils so it leaves your skin feeling hydrated. It removes the dead layer of skin and leaves skin supple, soft and silky smooth, and a healthy glow. Amazing.
Use with Oil Garden Nourishing Facial Moisturiser
Discovery BagFirst off the mostly organic make up of this scrub and the super cute packaging had me very excited to try it. The tube does it's job (however i found it became a little fiddly screwing the lid back on the shower with a scrub ready to go in one hand ( i think before this scrub all i'd tried had used flip tops)
This is the first scrub I've used that's been so creamy (when i first used it i had to double check i hadn't gotten the moisturizer and the scrub mixed up!). It has a nice smell to it too, it's stong but a natural smell.
It's super calming on the skin (no wonder with it's base of Aloe Vera) i tested it a couple of times after being in the sun (and humidity) all day and it wasn't rough on my skin. I'd usually use a courser face scrub so this one did feel really light on in that regard but i imagine it being the perfect scrub for those with sensitive skin.
I didn't have long to test this scrub but from what i can see it hasn't broken out my skin and it compliments it's partnering moisturiser very well.|
Nice and natural scrubI received the Oil Garden Clarifying Facial Scrub along with the face moisturiser from being a part of the trial team.
What I initially liked about this product was that it was 91% organic and free from nasty chemicals such as parabens and sulphates, mineral oil, silicones, petrochemicals or synthetic fragrances. This is something I am conscious of when purchasing any products. The fragrance of the product is very subtle and is made up from all the natural ingredients - no added fragrance is needed to make this product smell any better!
What I didnt like, just like most of the other reviewers was that it came with a screw off lid which was quite annoying and impractical after a while, especially if your using it in the shower. I wouldn't recommend leaving the cap off either as this will dry up the product and due to the creaminess/liquidness of the product, it will easily come out of the tube. Overall I liked the simple packaging design.
Using the exfoliator in the shower, i used only a 20cent piece amount which i applied to my whole face.
I will note that this exfoliator is very gentle and light weight in comparison to products like st ives scrubs. I personally prefer harder scrubs but it was nice to use something more gentle and may appeal to those who prefer gentler scrubs.
I havent seen any noticeable difference or improvement in my skin, but just knowing that I'm using a combination of natural oils and ingredients to help my skin is good enough for me to use this in the long run.
Discovery BagI was happy to see organic or natural products included in the Discovery Bag and not only did we get a facial scrub but we got a moisturiser as well.
One of the things I like about this products is the scent. It has the sweet fresh scent that's common with organic products.
The screw on lid may not be ideal especially if you're using it in the shower, but the tube itself is not slippery to hold and soft enough for you to squeeze the last bit of the product. One thing I'm also particular about is the dispense amount. Since it's in a squeezable tube, it's easy to control the usage and you're not wasting the scrub.
I have big pores and I like my facial scrubs to have bigger particles to scrub my face and this works well for me. I feel like my face was being thoroughly scrubbed but at the same time, it's still gentle on my skin. My skin feels soft and clean after every use.
The price is reasonable and I probably wouldn't mind buying it full price considering it's hard to find facial products that work on your skin without getting any irritation.|
Love itI’ve been switching to Certified Organic products for a while now & this is the first face brand i’ve used. I love it. It cleanses nicely & isn’t harsh at all. It doesn’t really have a smell & that doesn’t worry me. My face feels really great after using it & it doesn’t dry out or feel oily etc. I love that it’s great for my skin & that it feels it too. Would definitely recommend this scrub!|
