Hypericum, also known as St John’s Wort, is soothing to the skin and ideal for sensitive, extremely dry or neglected skin.

Hypericum is produced through the maceration of Hypericum perforatum in a blend of nourishing base oils.

How to use this product

Massage

Nourish and rejuvenate the body while experiencing the healing benefits of pure essential oils.

HOW: Choose 3 essential oils. Add a total of 5 drops of essential oil to 10 ml of carrier oil and gently massage over the skin. The oils are absorbed into the body via the hair follicles working from within to improve general wellbeing.

Direct Method

Treat specific sites with one single drop directly into the skin.

There are some specific cases where essential oils may be used directly on the skin. When a very small area of the skin is to be treated, the direct method can be applied.

HOW: Add 1 drop of pure essential oil to the tip of a cotton bud. For example 1 drop of myrrh for cold sores. 1 drop of lavender for mosquito bites and apply directly to the site.

Ingredients

Hypericum Flowers, Coconut Triglycerides and Rosemary Extract

Recipes

To ease sciatic nerve pain MASSAGE directly onto affected area.

Hypericum (St John's wort) is known for its use in depression and anxiety. What some people may not be aware of is that its oil has anti-inflammatory properties. It can soothe skin conditions such as minor wounds, burns and bruises.

I started using Oil Garden hypericum oil a few years ago for a variety of skin conditions. I alternated the hypericum oil with Oil Garden calendula oil. When treating itchy rashes, sometimes the calendula oil was more effective, and at other times, the hypericum oil worked better.

Hypericum oil can also be used for nerve-related muscular pain, rheumatism conditions etc. I would use Oil Garden hypericum oil for this purpose, but they do not offer it in a large enough size. For this reason, I have switched to another brand of hypericum oil which is available in a larger size bottle so that I can use a liberal amount of it.

When ingested, hypericum (St John’s wort) can interact with some medications. If you take medication and you are concerned about using hypericum oil, ask a medical professional to check that it is safe for you to use.
