New To Essential Oils?

With so many different essentials on the market and endless methods of use, starting your aromatherapy journey can be a little confusing. So, we have created a simple guide featuring our top 10 essential oils recommended for beginners to help you get started on your wellness journey.

Lavender

Lovely Lavender! One of mother nature’s most versatile pure essential oils. Renowned for its exceptional calming properties, it is a popular choice for helping to promote sleep & relieve stress.

Help improve your sleep quality

Add 3 drops Lavender with 3 drops Mandarin to your diffuser 20 minutes prior to bed. The calming properties help to relax the mind and body promoting a restful, deep sleep. 

Help to ease sore muscle 

Soothe muscles by creating your own natural massage oil. Add 10 drops of Lavender to 30mL of carrier oil such as Jojoba or Sweet Almond Oil. Blend and massage onto the skin. 

Headache?

To help ease headache pain, rub one drop of Lavender between your palms, place your hands over your nose and deeply inhale.

Eucalyptus

Fresh & clean! This home grown treasure is not just a favourite for our beloved Koala friends. The clean, crisp scent is invigorating to the senses whilst also holding strong antibacterial and antiseptic properties. 

Help ease congestion

To help ease chest and/or sinus congestion, add 3-5 drops of Eucalyptus pure essential oil to a bowl of hot water. Place a towel over your head, lean over the bowl and inhale deeply for a minute or two.

Refresh the air around you

Help to refresh and clear the air in your home. Add 10 drops of Eucalyptus to ½ cup of white vinegar and add to 100mL water bottle with spray cap. Top with water. Shake well before spraying into the surrounding air. Avoid spraying towards eye area. 

Mental invigoration

Add 3 drops to the bottom corner of your morning shower to help stimulate and energise your mind and body. 

Be safe: Do not use while pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid near the nose and face of children under 10 years. 

Lemon

Get lively with Lemon! This bright, citrus scent is accompanied with strong antimicrobial properties which make it great for household cleaning and lifting your mood at the same time. Who said cleaning was boring?

Natural all-purpose cleaner

Make your own natural cleaner with just 3 household ingredients; 2 cups white vinegar, 2 cups of water, 10 drops Lemon pure essential oil. Mix the ingredients in a spray bottle. (You can use more or less water depending on the size of the bottle, but keep the water-vinegar ratio 1:1). Spritz your counter surfaces and wipe down with a clean cloth. Happy cleaning! 

Focus, focus, focus 

Lemon is the perfect study buddy! Diffuse 4 drops each of Lemon and Peppermint pure essential oils whilst studying or working to help promote concentration and achieve mental clarity.  

Positive vibes

Lemon is like sunshine on a rainy day. Diffuse 3 drops lemon with 3 drops lime to help brighten your day with a super refreshing and uplifting home ambience.

Orange

This sweet, warming citrus oil is amazing to help de-stress, relax the mind and soothe sore heads. 

Mood booster

Diffuse 4 drops Orange with 3 drops Lime and let the bright, citrus notes uplift your mood. 

Skincare 

Scrub away dry skin and leave your skin feeling silky smoothe with this easy to use natural scrub using 1 teaspoon honey, 1 teaspoon brown sugar & 4 drops Orange. Orange has amazing brightening properties and a refreshing, citrus scent to invigorate your mind & body.

Calm your mind 

Add 6 drops of Orange with 4 drops Lavender Pure Essential Oil to 1 Tablespoon of Sweet Almond Oil and gently massage into the back of neck and behind ears when feeling unrest.

Frankincense

Bright, woody & spicy! Frankincense has been used for thousands of years as an incense and fragrance, however it also has many other uses, both physical (it’s antiseptic and antibacterial) and emotional (it’s a renowned mood booster). 

Skincare

To give your skin a moisturising boost, help regenerate mature skin and even aid in healing scar tissue, add 1 drop of Frankincense to a single use amount of your nightly moisturiser before applying to your skin. 

Meditation

Apply the soothing, calming action of Frankincense onto wrists and hands to quiet the mind in preparation for meditation and mindful practice. It not only helps to calm a racing heart, it also connects us to our higher self.

Feeling Nervous? 

Diffuse a few drops of Frankincense to help calm a busy mind.  For the ultimate restorative blend, add Bergamot and Neroli pure essential oils to your diffuser with Frankincense. .

Peppermint

Minty fresh! Peppermint is a crowd favourite with its super refreshing and invigorating scent.

Soothe Sore Muscles

Peppermint is cooling and detoxifying. Add 6-9 drops to 20mL of Jojoba oil for a rejuvenating post workout massage treatment. 

Tummy troubles? 

Help soothe those pesky tummy grumbles by simply adding 5 drops to the water of your Oil Garden diffuser to help kick start digestion. 

Headache?

Applying diluted Peppermint essential oil onto the forehead and temples has been found to be effective in helping to relieve headache symptoms.

Geranium

This one’s for all of the floral lovers out there! This subtly rose-scented oil has wonderful calming properties for the skin and mind. 

Restore emotional balance

Use Geranium to indulge in an evening bath that will help to balance, relax and restore emotions. Just add 5 drops of Geranium to a teaspoon of carrier oil such as Jojoba and dispense into warm water. 

Skincare

Help to give your skin that post-yoga glow whilst also helping to treat blemishes with this natural face mask. Just add 2 drops of Geranium with 10g aloevera gel & 15g raw honey. Gently apply to your fash, leave on for 15 minutes and wash off with warm water. 

Haircare

Say goodbye to dry, damaged hair! Mix 30g melted coconut oil with 8 drops of Geranium and massage into dry or damp hair from scalp to ends. Cover with a warm towel for 20 minutes to an hour then wash as usual.

Roman Chamomile

Not only does it provide us with a delightful tea, it’s steam distilled oil provides us with a sweet, floral and subtly fruity scent which is deeply soothing to your spirit & skin. 

Promote feelings of calm

Enhance your ‘me time’ by diffusing 4 drops Roman Chamomile with 2 drops each of Lavender and Orange to help relax your mind.  The perfect blend for reading or meditating. 

Skincare  – sunburn relief

To take the heat out of sunburn and calm inflamed skin, create this easy and natural soothing spray. In a small spritz bottle, add 8 drops of Roman Chamomile & 3 drops of Peppermint pure essential oil to 50mL aloevera juice. Shake to blend and spray onto affected area. 

Emotional support

Add 2-3 drops to the bottom corner of your shower and enjoy the benefits of steam inhalation.

Grapefruit

Get fruity! This oil brings positive vibes and promotes spontaneity. The sweet citrus scent can also help to relieve headaches, and calm an anxious mind. 

Nausea relief

To help calm feelings of nausea or curb sugar cravings, diffuse 4 drops Grapefruit with 4 drops Lemon. If you are prone to motion sickness, rub 1 drop of Grapefruit between your palms, place your hands over your nose & inhale – the perfect travel companion. 

Emotional uplift

Lift your spirits in a detoxifying bath. Just add 5 drops of grapefruit to a tablespoon of carrier oil such as Jojoba oil and dispense into a warm bath. 

Skincare

Grapefruit is packed full of astringent qualities that make it useful for treating oily skin. To make a natural toner, add 6 drops grapefruit to 30mL witch hazel in a small spritz bottle. Shake to blend, dab onto a cotton ball and wipe onto your face after cleansing.
