Cooling Mist

Posted by Oil Garden on 8th May 2024

Hot flushes can be an uncomfortable and bothersome part of life, especially during perimenopause and menopause. To help you stay cool and composed during these moments, we’ve created the “Cooling Mist Blend.”

Ingredients:

  • Cypress – offers a cooling effect, making it an ideal choice to combat hot flushes and provide relief from the heat.
  • Spearmint – essential oil adds a refreshing, minty quality to the blend, which can help cool you down during moments of discomfort.
  • Eucalyptus – essential oil is known for its soothing and cooling properties. It complements the blend by providing a refreshing sensation.
  • 100mL Distilled Water OR 50mL Distilled Water + 50mL of either Aloe Juice, Witch Hazel or Coconut Water.
  • 1x 100mL Glass Spritz Bottle

How to:

1. Choose Your Base: You can use either distilled water for a basic mist or enhance the cooling properties by reducing the water content to 50mL and adding 50mL of Witch Hazel, Aloe Juice, or Coconut Water.
2. Mix the Blend: Add 50mL of distilled water to a clean 100mL glass spritz bottle.
3. Essential Oils: Add 2-3 drops of each essential oil to the bottle and shake vigorously to ensure proper mixing.
4. Complete the Mixture: Add the remaining distilled water or your chosen enhancer (Witch Hazel, Aloe Juice, or Coconut Water) to the bottle.
5. Application: Spray the mist lightly about 30cm away from your face, avoiding the delicate eye area. Shake the bottle well before each use to maintain consistency.
Note: if you have sensitive skin do a patch test on the inside of your arm before use. Do not use it if it causes irritation.
Hot Tip: You can also use this blend as an inhalation method. Add one drop of each oil to a stainless-steel bowl filled with hot water. Keep your head approximately 30cm away from the bowl, close your eyes, and inhale deeply in 3-minute intervals for a refreshing experience.
CAUTION: Avoid direct contact with your eyes, and do not spray the mist directly onto your face.
